Groupe Scolaire Les Lumières — 22 Years of Education in Tangier

A trilingual private school supporting each pupil from preschool to high school in a reassuring, stimulating environment.

Our story

Founded in Val Fleuri in 2004

Founded in 2004 in Tangier's Val Fleuri neighbourhood, Groupe Scolaire Les Lumières has built over two decades of experience in trilingual private education. Today, pupils attend from preschool to high school on the same campus, benefiting from valuable educational continuity.

Our belief is simple: every child has a light within them, and school helps it shine. This is the meaning behind our name and our daily commitment.

Our mission

Helping every pupil succeed

“Supporting pupils from preschool to high school in a reassuring, welcoming environment.” This is our daily mission: putting pupils at the heart of our educational project and combining high expectations with care.

Our values

The principles that guide us

Tolerance and respect

An environment where every child is welcomed, heard and respected.

Independence

We develop pupils' ability to think and act independently.

Quality education

Consistent academic expectations from preschool to high school.

Personal development

Balancing academic achievement and personal growth.

Our educational philosophy

Our teaching combines project-based learning and a skills-based approach. Pupils learn to use knowledge in practical situations, work together, investigate and create. From preschool, Montessori-inspired teaching encourages independence and enjoyment in learning.

In mathematics, we use the internationally recognised Singapore method to develop deep and lasting understanding of concepts.

A trilingual approach

  • French: main teaching language for mathematics, physics, biology and computing.
  • Arabic: taught from the first preschool year.
  • English: from the final preschool year, three hours weekly, with Cambridge Preparation.

This progressive immersion builds language confidence and an international outlook, supporting pupils' future education and careers.
